Diego Maradona’s eldest daughter has branded his lawyer a “chicken” and wants to sue him after he claimed he was banned from the football icon’s funeral.
The former Barcelona and Napoli star died of a heart attack aged 60 in November just two weeks after being discharged from hospital for a bleed on his brain.
The Argentina icon and 1986 World Cup winner was buried at the Jardin Bella Vista cemetery, in Buenos Aires province, next to his parents.
In a leaked WhatsApp message, Maradona’s lawyer, Matias Morla claimed that he was banned from attending the late star’s funeral in Argentina.
In the message,Morla had written that he “never going to forget the fact” that he was prevented from attending the Maradona funeral.
He also called the football legend his “best friend”.
Now, Dalma Maradona, the 31-year-old daughter of Maradona has taken to Instagram to launch scathing criticism of Matias Morla
She called Matias Morla a “cagon”. “Cagon” refers to the Spanish word for “wimp” or “chicken”.
Concluding her statement, Dalma, who Maradona had with his former wife Claudia Villafane, added that the family were taking legal action against Morla.
The relationship between Dalma and Morla has been strained for years due to legal battles between Maradona and his ex over ownership of belongings.
