Nasarawa United, a Nigerian Premier League (NPFL) team, has confirmed their participation in the inaugural Abuja Unity Pre Season Tournament, according to NGNewsHub.com.
The week-long Center of Excellence football event kicks out on October 30 and runs through November 5th, 2021.
During the preseason extravaganza, ten clubs will light up the FCT football landscape, including five NPFL teams and five NNL teams from the second tier domestic league.
Nasarawa United’s preparations for the 2021/2022 domestic football league season, according to Amos Eche, spokesman for the Solid Miners, include a preseason competition.
Nasarawa United was the losing finalist in the Aiteo Cup in 2021. Plateau United, Lobi Stars, Kwara United, and the recently promoted Niger Tornadoes will all compete in the Abuja Preseason Tournament.
ABS FC, Ilorin; NAF Rockets Abuja; EFCC FC; FRSC FC; and Kogi United are among the Nigeria National League clubs competing in the competition.
“The Abuja Unity Preseason Tournament is specifically planned for teams from the north-central area of the country,” stated Patrick Ngwaogu, an experienced journalist and the preseason tournament’s coordinator.
Ngwaogu was the previous Sporting Director of Abia Warriors FC, a Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) team based in Umuahia.
