Bukayo Saka is yet to return to training since being hurt against Crystal Palace, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
The 20-year-old received a terrible kick to the back of the leg from James McArthur in Monday’s 2-2 draw, and his involvement in Friday’s match against Aston Villa has been questioned.
Arteta refused to rule Saka out of the game during a press conference, but the Gunners boss was unable to provide a positive update on the attacker’s condition.
“Today we have a training session. At his pre-match press conference, Arteta told reporters, “He hasn’t trained yet, so we’ll have to assess him today and see how he is.”
Gunners coach Arsene Wenger also disclosed that “two or three players” left the Palace game with minor knocks, while Granit Xhaka is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a major knee injury.
