Fidelity Bank PLC, a leading Nigerian lender, recently held a dinner party to honor outgoing directors and welcome new members to the board. Beyond Limits was the theme of the black-tie event, which featured performances by Davido, Bovi, Kizz Daniel, and DJ Kaywise.
Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the event’s chief host and current Managing Director, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the bank’s management and staff to all the outgoing directors, particularly former MD Nnamdi Okonkwo and former Chairman Ernest Ebi, MFR, for handing over a sound system to the new administration. “Without the hard work and leadership of our leaving board members, we would not be where we are now as an institution,” she says. We appreciate their help, as well as their continuous support when we left the board.”
“We have grown stronger as a bank and have serviced our stakeholders sufficiently thanks to our solid leadership structure,” Nneka said in welcoming the new board. “At the beginning of the year, we announced our seven key imperatives that will guide our strategy to be a tier one Bank by 2025, and we are glad to announce that we are well on track,” she said, assuring the audience that Fidelity is poised to continue providing the best financial services to its customers. We have completed a very successful Eurobond sale, raising $400 million from international capital markets.”
Directors who had been with the bank since 2012 were honored and rewarded for their years of outstanding service at the event. Former Chairman Ernest Ebi MFR, former Managing Director/CEO Nnamdi Okonkwo, former Executive Director Gbolahan Joshua, former Non-Executive Director Michael Okeke, former Non-Executive Director Seni Adetu, former Non-Executive Director Charles Umolu, former Deputy Managing Director Muhammed Balarabe, former Non-Executive Director Alex Ojukwu, former Non-Executive Director Ch (former Executive Director).
A slew of dignitaries attended the event, including Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman, Dangote Group; Kennedy Uzoka, GMD, United Bank of Africa; Senators Abdullahi Gumel and Bello Mandiya (representing Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan); Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State; and Hajia Lami Fintiri and Dr. Eunice Ortom, First Ladies of Adamawa and Ben
The event, which was hosted by Dare Art-Alade and Bisola Aiyeola, was a night of fun and celebration of Fidelity Bank’s culture of hard work, as gorgeously dressed staff, customers, and stakeholders, as well as celebrities and media personalities, enjoyed scintillating performances by the Vintage Band, Chike, Davido, Dupe Ige, Kizz Daniel, Bovi, Ice Nweke, Funny Bone, and Izzy. DJ Kaywise was on the decks, and he did an excellent job of inviting attendees into the after-party.
