On Saturday, October 30, two suspected armed robbers, Edehikenna Daniel Stanley and Segun Tope, were apprehended by men from the Ogun state police command while carrying out a robbery operation in an Ota industrial estate company.
The suspects were apprehended after police in Onipanu divisional headquarters received a distress call at 3 a.m., claiming that thieves had entered the company and were holding the security guys hostage.
The DPO Onipanu division CSP Bamidele job promptly assembled his men and proceeded to the location after receiving the distress call. The hoodlums who had stolen two big industrial batteries bolted when they saw the cops, but they were pursued and two of them were captured.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command’s spokeswoman, confirmed the event and said goods recovered from them included two industrial batteries, a toy gun they used to instill terror in the security men’s minds, and two knives.
On the direction of the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, the two suspects were transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for a quiet investigation.
